The Science-Backed Ergonomic Carrier
ARCLYFT™ is an ergonomic lifting aid designed to help individuals carry and lift items safely and more efficiently, reducing strain on the body. Born from the vision of a Board Certified Orthotist, it was crafted to prioritize both structural durability and user comfort. We collaborated to refine it into a polished, market-ready product, enhancing its aesthetics, optimizing manufacturing, and ensuring commercial readiness—all while preserving its ergonomic integrity and intended functionality.
The journey started with Spencer Doty, a Board Certified Orthotist, whose clinical and biomechanics expertise set the foundation for an innovative ergonomic carrier. Spencer's vision was to help users optimize wrist and elbow alignment and comfort while carrying items for work, recreation and household activities.
Spencer came to us with an initial prototype, which showcased the fundamental shape and concept for his ergonomic carrier, and provided a strong foundation for development.
We developed a modular system for testing different lengths and angles. Spencer used it to identify the ideal configuration for ARCLYFT™, combining his clinical and technical expertise with our adaptable design.
We created several design approaches tailored to precise ergonomic and aesthetic requirements, guided by Spencer’s biomechanical expertise.
After extensive testing of prototypes for each option, Spencer selected the Full Body design for its modern aesthetic and ergonomic effectiveness, which we then optimized and prepared for commercialization.
